Sorry it's so short, my best friend's brother got in a minor car accident. He's completely fine, but she was rattled so I needed to spend the day with her though taking her mind off of it.
Chapter 16
I got home from a challenging hockey practice and took a shower before collapsing into bed. I could see Veronique clearly from my position in bed. She was sitting at her desk doing something on her giant computer. I could assume it was probably something to do with fashion, for some reason agonizing what clothes to wear was important to her. I don’t understand it, I literally just put on whatever doesn’t smell that bad. I can tell she doesn’t understand my fascination with hockey but she didn’t say anything, so I didn’t bother her either. We haven’t seen a lot of each other lately, with her being a junior and me being a senior. Plus, I was playing hockey 24/7 with the draft being just this summer and Vero was working her way through the dreadful junior year. She got up from her desk and began to pull her shirt off. She paused for a second though and stopped and went to her curtains and shut them. I tried not to feel disappointed and reminded myself that if I would have lied there watching her change, I would have been considered a pervert.
Next Day
I saw Vero working with the hallway with a bunch of her friends. They didn’t seem to be working though, instead they were giggling and gossiping. I couldn’t hear exactly what they were saying, but as soon as I walked out of the classroom, they became silent.
“Vero.” I said smiling and I jerked my head towards the bathroom, trying to signal for her to come with me. She got up and ignored her friends when they made kissing noises and followed me.
“Hey stranger.” I said smiling and I kissed her on the cheek, not caring who saw. Vero blushed though and moved her head away slightly though.
“Do you want to go to the mall tonight?” I asked her, just wanting to be with her.
“I have two tests tomorrow though.” She replied. I tried to hide my frustration. Wasn’t I supposed to be more important than schoolwork?
“It would only be until 7 because my English tutor is coming over than.” I begged.
“Alright then, we can pick up dinner there.” Vero said smiling now. I got a drink from the water fountain and turned around hugged her impulsively, not caring if she got mad. She blushed again, but returned the hug before going back to her friends. I went through the rest of the day impatiently, not listening to my teachers drone on at all. All I could do is think about spending time with Vero. Finally, the day ended and I saw her sitting on my car in the parking lot. She was shivering though, Quebec winters are freezing. I greeted her with a searing kiss and helped her off the hood. Vero eagerly got into the passengers seat and as soon as I put the keys in, turned up the heat.
“You are always cold.” I teased her.
“Just because I live in Canada my whole life still doesn’t mean I’m immune to the cold.” She grumbled. I turned up the radio and started singing loudly, trying to match the high-pitched tone. Soon enough, I had Veronique laughing so hard she was almost crying.
“You’re the worst singer in the whole providence of Quebec!” Vero exclaimed, still laughing though.
“Thank you, thank you very much.” I replied. We got to the mall and we stepped inside. As soon as I saw the indoor ice rink wasn’t occupied by the game, I turned into a begging little kid in a candy store.
“Can we please skate?” I begged. To my surprise, Vero nodded immediately. “Of course.” She said, her eyes sparkling. I ran towards the skate rental place and got both of our skates.
“Jeez Marc-Andre, nice way to put it on morph speed.” She said laughing.
“To be honest, I’m afraid you are going to change your mind. You haven’t put on skates in forever.” I admitted while lacing the skates up.
“I’m not the wicked witch of the ice. I love to ice skate, just not the hockey part.” Vero said. She was slowly lacing up the skates, trying to get them tight. I knocked her hands away from the laces.
“I know that.” I said and quickly laced up the skates for her.
“Thanks.” Vero said absolutely beaming at me now. I took her hand and pulled her up. I got onto the ice first and Vero tried to follow me. When she stepped on the ice though, she almost fell flat on her face if I wouldn’t have grabbed her arm,
“Vero, I am embarrassed to call you a Canadian!” I laughed. She let go of the death grip on my arm and balanced herself. “I know how to skate, obviously. It’s just been awhile.” I just kept laughing and grabbed onto her hand. We skated around for awhile and she put her head on my shoulder.
“What do you want for Christmas?” I asked her. It was the beginning of December, I think boyfriends are supposed to start thinking of things like this already.
“I want you to win the gold at the World Junior Championships.” Vero said with a straight face.
I sighed, “I’m serious. What do you want?”
She laughed. “That’s what I want.” Her laugh was contagious and soon I was laughing too. “Alright, I’ll win you the gold.” After that, we got bored of skating and we grabbed some Tim Horton’s. Vero was obsessed with their hot chocolate and got two larges.
“You are such a freak.” I told her. She opened one of them and blew on it before drinking it. “Yup, I know.” After polishing off her completely healthy meal of donuts, we left the mall. I had to drive fast going home since we left the mall at 7:15. My dad would kill me if I was late for the tutoring session. He said it was important for me to learn to speak English if I was drafted into a city in the States. I dropped Vero off in front of her house. She leaned over and gave me a quick kiss before jumping out of the car.
“See you later!” She yelled before dashing inside.

Your choice
So I was reading the comments from last chapter and I realized a lot of you were excited for the draft chapter. I don't have the next chapter written up, so I'm giving you the choice: Do you want a few more chapters and then the draft chapter and ect. or do you want them to stay in high school and be normal for a few more chapters and then the draft. It's up to you! If I can get three or more comments by ..around 11 or 11:30 tonight, I'll try and get the chapter up tonight! If not, I will for sure get it up tomorrow because school got cancelled.
