So right now, I'm watching Game 1 of the 2008 Rangers vs Penguins series. They're down 3-0 right now, so the announcers are saying how Fleury isn't a playoff goalie and how the Ottawa series was just a fluke. They must feel like idiots after this year, SUCKERS! haha
Chapter 8[[Year 13]]
Vero’s POV
I took Marie’s dinner upstairs on a tray, she was claiming she wasn’t feeling well. I opened the door and saw her sitting curled up at her desk. She was pale and had such dark circles under her eyes, she didn’t even care about her appearance anymore.
She smiled tiredly at me, “Hey Veronique, tell mom I’m not hungry and that I’ll make sure to drink a lot of fluids.” She was the only one who refused to call me Vero. I sighed before looking at my watch, it was 8:15 and I promised to meet Marc-Andre at Tim Horton’s after his hockey game at 8:30. “Whatever Marie.” I muttered and I put the tray on her desk anyway and slammed the door. I ran to my room, changing into my favorite pair of skinny jeans and a thick sweater. I put on my winter jacket, my pink gloves, and wrapped a scarf around my neck. I made sure there was a few dollars in my pocket before going outside and walking down the snowy streets. I almost fell a couple times, but luckily I made it to Tim Horton’s without falling. I embraced the warm air inside and looked around for Marc. I immediately saw him and it struck me how much we had changed from when we were little. He had become tall and had grown out his brown hair. He wasn’t able to develop noticeable muscle yet, but you could tell he was trying to work out for hockey. I smiled, he already had a bag of Timbits on the table and two steaming hot coffees. Coming here and drinking coffee was our little secret, our parents would flip out if they knew. But having a coffee cup in our hands made us feel so grown up.
He waved me over, “V, V! We won our game and I got a shut out!” He yelled eagerly.
I smiled sitting down and grabbing my coffee. “Seriously? How many shots?” I thought hockey was confusing, but Marc was obsessed with it, so I tried.
“Well…my dad says around 20, but I swear it was like 100! I mean I was like ninja goalie..WHAM! BAM! AND FLEURY MAKES THE SAVE.” He tried to save, but he ended up flipping off the chair and landing face first on the ground. People were staring, so he quickly got up and sat back in the chair. I was laughing, but blushing at the same time even though it wasn’t me that fell out of the chair. “Jesus Christ, Marc-Andre, nice way to make people stare!” I exclaimed.
He playfully stroked the side of his face. “Darling, you know they’re staring anyway because of my sexy looks.” He joked.
I rolled my eyes, “You’re such a cocky bastard.” I said, but I couldn’t help but laugh. A pretty, older blonde girl walked in and Marc-Andre blatantly checked her out, looking her up and down. “Marc!” I yelled, punching him on the shoulder.
Marc tore his eyes away, “What?” He asked.
I smirked, “You sure don’t think girls have cooties anymore.” For some reason, that caused him to blush madly. “Who’s the girl?” I asked in a sing-song voice.
He blushed looking at his hands. “Why do you think I like some one?” He asked me.
I gave him a look. “Dude, you’re my best friend. I know everything.” I told him.
“Welllll, you know Charlotte, the girl in our history class?” He asked me.
I nodded, smiling on the outside but I couldn’t help but feel a little twinge inside. “Why do you like her?” I asked.
A smile slowly formed on his face. “You’ve seen her, she’s hot!” I glared at him before he quickly added. “And she’s smart too! She’s really nice to me and she laughs..” He said and kept muttering to himself.
I snapped my fingers. “Hello, Romeo. Snap out of it and just ask her out!”
“Bonjour, Charlotte. Would you like to go out with me, like on a date?”
Vero stop coaching him on girls! He loves you fool! haha Great update Kristy.
ReplyDeleteNo, no dating other girls! lol
ReplyDeleteFAVORITE PART: "I mean I was like ninja goalie..WHAM! BAM! AND FLEURY MAKES THE SAVE."
HAHAHAHA! LOVED IT! :)
Another great chapter!
I missed this story. Agreed, no coaching Marc on the girls! I can only imagine how scrawny Flower was as a kid. Even though we know they're going to end up together, it's still so cute to see the road as they get there.
ReplyDeleteGreat chapter.
ReplyDeleteMarc is so adorable, I hope that Charlotte says no. I know Marc will be upset but he'll get over eventually and realized that Vero is the one for him... too bad there's still two years before they get together.
I really liked the "ninja goalie" part.
Can't wait for more.
