Chapter 7 [[Year 11]]
Vero’s POV
That’s how the rest of the week went. Marc-Andre kept trying to apologize to me at school, but I just ignored me. Hanging out with guys all the time made me realize what I was missing with hanging out with girls. I already formed a tight knit group of friends. Unfortunately, being neighbors with you’re best friend who you’re currently ignoring, it’s very hard to ignore.
Marie and I were gardening in the front yard. She squinted at me, “So what’s up with you and Marc-Andre? What did he do to you?” She asked.
I blushed and looked at my feet. “Uh well, he like snapped my bra strap.”
I expected her to comfort me, but instead she laughed. “Seriously? You’re so pissed off that candy can’t fix it about that? Newsflash Vero, basically every guy does that to you in high school.”
I scowled at her. “Still, Marc is my best friend. He should have known better.”
She smirked before looking up, “Speak of the devil.” I looked up to see Marc coming over the street with a flower in his hand.
“This is for you. My mom said it would help you forgive me.” He mumbled before shoving it my hand, blushing the whole time.
Marie laughed. “I’m going to leave you two kids alone.” She said before getting up and going into the house.
“A flower isn’t going to make me forget about how much you embarrassed me.” I snapped.
He looked down at the ground before saying, “I know Vero, you don’t know sorry I am. I have no idea why I did it..just please forgive me. I miss you.” He admitted.
I sighed. “Fine, but it’s going to take a while before I trust you.” I told him.
Marc smiled, “Okay! That’s fine!” He said brightly.
“And if you ever bring it up again, I will kill you.”
“Umm..okay.” He said some what nervously.
“Actually, I have to do one more thing before I forgive you.” I told him before putting out my hand. “Deal?”
“Deal.” He agreed and started putting his hand forward. Before he knew it, I quickly pantsed him, revealing his Scooby-Doo boxers.
“Vero!” Marc cried turning bright red before quickly pulling his pants up.
“Now you know how I feel.” I said shrugging.
He nodded his head still blushing. “I swear to god I’m sorry about that.”
“Whatever, it’s in the past. Let’s go down to the rink!” I yelled before running upstairs to get my boom box and my favorite Britney Spears CD.
“Britney Spears again?” He groaned.
I gave him a look. “I really don’t want to be shooting on you, I could be in my room designing some clothes in my sketchbook. So we’re listening to my music.” I declared.
“Since when did you become so defiant and outspoken? You used to be shy.” He muttered
“Well maybe you aren’t the only one wearing the pants in this friendship.” I said grinning. He rolled his eyes, but didn’t say anything. We went down to the rink and he got out his old goalie equipment that he kept stashed under the bushes. I got out the bright pink street hockey stick he got me for my birthday. I shot around on him for a while, him blocking most of them because I sucked so much.
“I’m worried about Marie.” I finally admitted.
He looked at me funnily. “Why? She seems as bitchy as normal.” {{I figured I probably started cursing a little when I was 11, so idk xD}}
“I know..but she like never eats anymore. She always says she ate with her friends, but some times she says that when she wasn’t even at a friends house. And she always talks about how fat she is.” I explained.
“So do you think she has an eating disorder?” Marc-Andre asked.
I shrugged. “I don’t know. But if you tell her about this, she’ll kill me.” He walked out in front of me and held out his pinky finger. “I pinky promise I won’t tell any one.” He said solemnly.
I laughed before pinky promising him back. “You really are my best friend.”
“Best friends forever, guuurllfriendd!” He mimicked a girl in a really high pitched voice.
